Biography of Ustadh Hatim Yousef
Ustadh Hatim Yousef is a Qur’an and Islamic Studies teacher at the ADAMS Center in Sterling Virginia. He holds a certification (ijaza) in Hafs and Suh’ba recitations. He studied Qur’an with Shaykh Mohammad Isam Al Quda, Shaykh Hussein Abu Laban, Shaykh Abdel-Majid Al Masri, Shaykh Ahmad Al Jamoos (raheemahullah) and the famous Islamic singer, Abu Mahmoud Al-Tirmithi, with whom Ustadh Hatim studied the seven tunes (maqams) of recitation. He has also studied Aqidah, Fiqh, and spirituality under a variety of scholars such as Shaykh Khaldoon Makhlota, Shaykh Amjad Rashid, Shaykh Ahmad Hasanat and Shaykh Nuh Keller (may Allah preserve him). He also holds a Bachelors of Arts in English Language and Translation as well as a Masters of Arts in English and Literature. Ustadh Hatem focus is on increasing the Muslims’ love for the Prophet- (Allah bless him and give him peace) and thereby inspiring them to follow his states and sunnahs, inward and outward.
